Beach Engagement Session | Jessica & Steven

Jessica and Steven’s beach engagement session was like a fun hangout with old friends. Never mind the fact that we had never met in person before; their personalities are just so warm and welcoming. I’d had the chance to chat with Jessica over Zoom a few months prior and our conversation was easy and light; however, our session was the first time I ever got to meet Steven. But instantly I understood what Jessica meant when she had described Steven as a big teddy bear. He is a fun-loving guy, kind-hearted and always keeping the mood light with jokes. Jessica herself is a total sweetheart, never stingy when it comes to giving hugs. And together, they are always having fun.

The two met when Jessica was working as a substitute teacher. It was while she was spending the day subbing for a PE class that they initially crossed paths. Later that day, he showed up at the bar where she tended bar and their back-and-forth banter allowed them to forge an instant connection.

Taking their engagement photos at the beach was a big priority for the two of them, as a nod to some favorite memories of their relationship. While they live in the Central Valley, they frequently enjoyed getaways to the coast. The idea of “getting away” was also a big determining factor in choosing their wedding venue. They are most looking forward to bringing their guests out of town to enjoy exploring all that Ventura County has to offer.

Jessica and Steven, I am so happy we crossed paths. I can already tell that it’s always a good time with you, and I cannot wait for your Pacific View Tower wedding next year!

Passionate about turning your most heartfelt moments into your legacy of love

When I was first getting to know my husband, Michael's, family, I loved hearing the stories of their marriages— the good times and bad, better and worse, joy as well as sorrow, and always love. But the very first time I saw his grandmother’s collection of family wedding photos perched atop her mantel I had to stop and take in what over 200 years of marriage looked like on display. As I looked on at the images framed on the mantel, immediately all of the stories shared by Michael’s grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins came rushing through my head, and it was so easy to trace them all back to the days they said “I do.” In my role as a wedding photographer, I capture all of the raw emotions of your big day, so when you look back at those images you are reminded of the fullness in your heart and you can see how that first day of marriage created a legacy of love.
