Arroyo Verde Park Engagement Photos

For Mayra and Miguel, their story has been over a decade in the making.

Mayra and Miguel went to the same high school. But they didn’t actually meet until after they both graduated. Their first encounter was at a party of a mutual friend, and sparks flew pretty quickly.

For past dating anniversaries, the two made it a tradition to celebrate by visiting different wineries. To celebrate their 10 year anniversary, they took a trip out to Temecula to revisit the winery where they had celebrated their very first dating anniversary. Miguel figured this would be the perfect time to pose the question that had been a decade in the making. It took Mayra completely by surprise.

When I found out that Mayra & Miguel missed out on the captured memory of their proposal, due to a cut off video, it became all the more important to ensure they had meaningful photos from their engagement session that they could cherish forever.

As we prepared for our session, Mayra sent me some screenshots of different locations that she knew I’d shot at that she and Miguel really liked. As it turned out, multiple of the photos were from the same location: Arroyo Verde Park. It seemed like fate when they told me they actually used to go hiking together at that same park as well! It’s always that much more special when the setting of a session holds sentimental value to the couple.

Mayra and Miguel, you two have such a coolness about you. I loved getting to help you two document this special season of your lives. And I can’t wait for all of the memories that will be created at your wedding next year!

Passionate about turning your most heartfelt moments into your legacy of love

When I was first getting to know my husband, Michael's, family, I loved hearing the stories of their marriages— the good times and bad, better and worse, joy as well as sorrow, and always love. But the very first time I saw his grandmother’s collection of family wedding photos perched atop her mantel I had to stop and take in what over 200 years of marriage looked like on display. As I looked on at the images framed on the mantel, immediately all of the stories shared by Michael’s grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins came rushing through my head, and it was so easy to trace them all back to the days they said “I do.” In my role as a wedding photographer, I capture all of the raw emotions of your big day, so when you look back at those images you are reminded of the fullness in your heart and you can see how that first day of marriage created a legacy of love.
