Orange County Engagement Photos | Anneli & Joshua

I’m so glad I was able to meet Anneli & Joshua in Orange County for their engagement photos! From our first conversation, I knew they were my kind of people. These two showed up to their session dressed to the nines, complete with the most radiant smiles. I couldn’t stop gushing over Anneli’s tiered dress and the way it moved in photos! The number of times I squealed “OH MY GOODNESS” throughout our time together was probably a little over the top. But they are just so sweet together.

The Story

To think, Anneli suggested coffee for their first date as an easy out in case they weren’t a good match. The two ended up not only staying until the coffee shop closed, but extended their date with a long walk afterwards. Just a few months later, Joshua knew he was ready to take the next step. I loved hearing about his scheme to pop the question in spite of last year’s stay-at-home orders. We laughed as Joshua recounted his harebrained scheme of having Anneli try to put together a puzzle blindfolded. Anneli was so confused while attempting this herculean task, until Joshua finally decided to give her a hand. Pure shock took over when she finally was allowed to take off her blindfold and read the words “will you marry me?”

The best part was hearing them tell this story over our Zoom call with the puzzle framed behind them all the while. The story of their engagement perfectly encapsulates who they are as a couple: light-hearted, loving people who love to go with the flow.

Anneli and Joshua, I had so much fun spending the evening giggling with the two of you! You two are such sweet people who are truly made for each other. I can’t wait to capture the next chapter of your love story at your Griffith House wedding later this year!

Passionate about turning your most heartfelt moments into your legacy of love

When I was first getting to know my husband, Michael's, family, I loved hearing the stories of their marriages— the good times and bad, better and worse, joy as well as sorrow, and always love. But the very first time I saw his grandmother’s collection of family wedding photos perched atop her mantel I had to stop and take in what over 200 years of marriage looked like on display. As I looked on at the images framed on the mantel, immediately all of the stories shared by Michael’s grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins came rushing through my head, and it was so easy to trace them all back to the days they said “I do.” In my role as a wedding photographer, I capture all of the raw emotions of your big day, so when you look back at those images you are reminded of the fullness in your heart and you can see how that first day of marriage created a legacy of love.
