Sunset Wedding Ceremony | Jamie & Tommy

bLOG CATEGORIEs + Search

Jamie and Tommy had the sunset wedding ceremony that was beyond their wildest dreams. The couple has always loved being in nature and spending time outdoors, so an oceanfront wedding was so fitting. Her bridesmaids wore dresses in the same style but in different hues, representing the beautiful colors of southern California’s sunsets. And Tommy and his groomsmen were outfitted in sharp blue suits, as a clear nod to the beach setting.

Both Jamie and Tommy dreamt of taking their first photos as husband and wife with the dreamiest golden light in the background. The lighting certainly did not disappoint that day; the day’s clear skies created the most beautiful golden hour photos!

The most touching moment of the day was the toast given by Tommy’s son and best man, Carson. He talked about what a fantastic pair the two of them make, and how special Jamie has become to their family. And he made it very clear that Jamie has long been a part of their family, but that he was proud that now they officially all shared a last name.

Jamie and Tommy, you are two of the kindest souls. The unreal light we were so fortunate to have on the beach was just like your hearts: pure gold. It was a joy getting to spend the day with all of your dearest friends and family, who are just as kind-hearted as the two of you. Wishing you both a lifetime of love.

Passionate about turning your most heartfelt moments into your legacy of love

When I was first getting to know my husband, Michael's, family, I loved hearing the stories of their marriages— the good times and bad, better and worse, joy as well as sorrow, and always love. But the very first time I saw his grandmother’s collection of family wedding photos perched atop her mantel I had to stop and take in what over 200 years of marriage looked like on display. As I looked on at the images framed on the mantel, immediately all of the stories shared by Michael’s grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins came rushing through my head, and it was so easy to trace them all back to the days they said “I do.” In my role as a wedding photographer, I capture all of the raw emotions of your big day, so when you look back at those images you are reminded of the fullness in your heart and you can see how that first day of marriage created a legacy of love.
