I’m thrilled to share the details and highlights of this Los Olivos wedding celebrating Carly & Alex.

Alex is originally from St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. When he joined the Marine Corps and came to California he became close with a family from Solvang. As a couple, Alex and Carly remain close with the family and continue to make visits up to the Santa Ynez valley to visit. While the area operates at a slower pace, it still surprises you with all of the activities available. They were excited to share this area that holds such special sentiment to them with all of their loved ones.

The couple had a vision of bright wildflowers to contrast against the neutral backdrop of the ranch. As an easy-going and fun-loving pair, they wanted to imbue those qualities into their design and overall wedding atmosphere. The florals by Ella & Louie Flowers included bright ground pieces for the ceremony that popped against the green ceremony lawn. The reception featured a mix of small arrangements in a variety of stoneware and glass vessels along the dark wooden farm tables.

The weather was perfect for their April wedding, with the sun peaking out at just the right times. The joyful nature of their friends and family perfectly matched the vibrant hues of the wedding.

The couple tends to be reserved with their emotions, so it was beautiful to see Alex have such a visceral reaction seeing his bride. He quietly shed happy tears during the couple’s private first look and during the ceremony.
